I *was* going to smoothly transition into the holiday season with maybe a gourd post or something about Thanksgiving but WHY?! It’s 2020, folks. We just need to jump right into the most wonderful time of the year, right? So I want start with the foundation of any great Christmassy atmosphere with my top Christmas tree picks this season!
My Top Christmas Tree Picks: Balsam Hill
Some of the best memories that I have revolve around Christmas. Not around the gifts — honestly, I can’t recall many of the *things* I received as a kid — but around the sights, sounds, and smells of the holidays. My mom always decked the halls in a way that seemed so phenomenally magical to me and it is that atmosphere of joy, hope, and merriment that I try to recreate with my own family (even if it’s less of a Hallmark scene and more of a chocolatey-sticky fingers, broken ornaments, and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” playing non-stop and driving you batty scene). To start us off on this fabulous tour of trees (if you will), let’s look at this incredible European Fir from Balsam Hill!
This is the tree that we have as our “main tree,” my friends. It is luscious! It has major junk-in-the-trunk. On a scale of 1-10 for realism, I give this lady a solid 10! The most common question that I get about this tree is, “is it real?!” No! No it is not. Balsam Hill is one of my favorite sources for trees that provide the most natural look without the mess. We have the unlit version of this tree. Personally, I prefer an unlit tree if you’re making an investment. It’s sure to last decades — whereas a lit tree will inevitably burn out, eventually. Balsam Hill is the number one source for realism and incredible quality that will last a lifetime!
My Top Christmas Tree Picks: Target
A little confession — I am of the belief that you really can’t have too many trees during the holiday season. You don’t need ten, but if you want ten, go for it! I love mixing miniature trees around our home. They provide texture, warmth, and depth to the space just by their presence! One of my favorite quick sources for minis is, of course, Target.
Target has a number of miniature trees that make the perfect accent for the season! I love this little frosted fir — potted in a natural basket to add the perfect amount of warmth and texture to your space. Target is always worth a peek or two — and they offer curbside pick up or fast shipping for online orders (especially important during this time).
Cottonwood Shanty
As much as I love Target (gosh, I love you, Target), I am a huge supporter of shopping small. One of my favorite sweet shops is Cottonwood Shanty and you can bet they have some incredible options for your tree-loving heart this season!
These minis from Cottonwood Shanty are high quality, affordable, and beautiful! I added two of theses snowy trees to my collection this year and am loving how they pair with my Christmas Tree scroll in my entryway!
From Susie
Speaking of lovely small businesses, From Susie is another fantastic source for vintage-themed, high quality goods that I just love!
I love all of the goods that From Susie has to offer but the mini trees are just the bees knees (yes, I just said that)! I have a couple of the spruce trees and they fit perfectly in my found crocks all around the house!
The Antique Farmhouse
Another source that I pay attention to each season is The Antique Farmhouse. I nabbed a couple of their potted trees in different sizes this year. Use a pair of trees of different heights as an accent in a corner or on top of an accent table!
Magnolia Home
Finally, we can’t discuss great faux tree options without mentioning Magnolia. Yeah. Chip and Jo. They know where it’s at. I have had this tree for a couple years now and absolutely love it! No lights or extra pizzazz needed, guys. It’s a statement piece all on it’s own!
I know, 2020 has been a beast. I hope you’re able to slow down and take in the holiday season this year. Making our spaces warm and cozy is one way to usher in those feelings of warmth and joy. May you feel that today and all throughout the season!
