December
I’m so excited to share monthly curated vintage goods updates with items that I’ve listed on my Etsy storefront. If you know me even a little bit, you know I’m always on the hunt for vintage eye candy. I fell in love with “old” things decades ago — though I didn’t realize it at the time. As a kid, my mom would occasionally browse through small ma & pop home decor shops that would be filled to the brim with primitive and country style treasures. I loved tagging along — there was something about those shops that felt homey — cozy — comfy — and I know that it planted a seed somewhere.
I didn’t catch the antiquing/auction/thrifting bug until well into adulthood. Let’s be honest, guys, I’m still figuring myself out! But gosh — there is a wild rush when I find something old and pretty! This month, I’ve curated a few pieces that are vintage farmhouse at their core. First up, a few precious shoe forms!
I can never pass up a good shoe form. They are the perfect small accent to add warmth and character to a space. I find myself imagining all the little shoes that came from these molds and it makes me smile. This is a pair of children’s shoe forms. I have a few listed, currently. They are precious and easy to style for anyone with a heart for vintage treasures.
Curated Vintage Goods: Whisk Broom
I love items that add texture to a space. It was love at first sight when I found this fantastic vintage whisk broom!
I like styling whisks in vignettes or as part of a gallery wall to add texture. And, yes, you can actually use them as a whisk broom (I do!). You have to love decor goods with a purpose — a function, if you will. You can grab this little beauty here!
Curated Vintage Goods: Rug Beater
I often chuckle to myself that there are a whole bunch of folks (I’m including myself, here) using the tools of yesteryear as decor. Isn’t it kind of funny that I’m going to tell you that you should hang this old rug beater on your wall and just leave it there?? LOL! But, you should.
You may ask yourself, “why, Jess, why?!” To which I will reply, “why not?!” Honestly, these vintage wire rug beaters are just plain pretty. Their wire-shaped heart frame and worn wooden handle is vintage love, plain and simple. I have one of my own hanging on our kitchen wall! You can see this one, here!
Vintage Curated Goods: Books
It’s almost a guarantee that I will be sharing stacks of beautifully worn vintage books every month. I love them so — their feel, look, texture, and smell gives me the warm fuzzies! This set of three beauties is just perfect and had to highlight it this month!
I become lost in my thoughts about the hands that turned these pages and the shelves these books called home over the years. Timeworn books are one of my favorite things and this little set is just perfect! Find it here!
I hope you love these vintage goods as much as I love gathering them for you! Stay well, friends, and enjoy all the old things!
